Soapmaking started out of a need to find a cleansing product
that did not irritate our daughter's sensitive skin.  As a baby,
Campbell had mild eczema.  I researched the art of
soapmaking and worked on a recipe that would be good for
her.  Soapmaking soon become an obsession!  The house
was being taken over by soap curing in every room!  Friends
joked that they couldn't come and visit because there was
nowhere to sit!  Our neighbors said that you could smell the
enticing scents from the road in front of our house!  Soon, I had
to wonder, what was I going to do with all of the soap I was
making?  I gave a lot to friends and family, and they gave me
great advice on what they liked about various bars.  From that
experience, I was able to come up with some great recipes
that stimulate the senses and moisturize the skin while
cleansing thoroughly.  Nanty's Naturals was born!

Nanty's Naturals is named after our favorite place in the entire
world--the Nantahala River in North Carolina.  Nicknamed "the
Nanty," I decided to name my business after the river that
inspires me so much.
